XM Channel U-POP will change to HOLLY on Channel 824 / 107


HOLIDAY TRADITIONS on Channel TBA XMRadio Online & Aol xmradio online.
It will feature traditional holiday recordings from the 40s through the 60s

US COUNTRY will change to A NASHVILLE CHRISTMAS on Channel 809 /108
That will include contemporary and traditional holiday hits from country's biggest superstars

XM POPS will change to A CLASSICAL CHRISTMAS on Channel 866/109
Includes carols that you know and sung by the greatest classical musicians of all-time

SPECIAL X will change to SPECIAL X-MAS on Channel 848 / 106
It will feature the whacked side of the holidays with comedy, parodies and seasonal insanity

Yes but to a lesser extent. Last year Sirius had two full time Christmas stations. Starlite, the AC station on Sirius played traditional Christmas music and The Roadhouse, a Classic Country station played Christmas Country music from Thanksgiving thru Christmas. However, there were a lot of specials on the other channels that were not preempted.

Did Holly replace UPop on DirecTV yet? Holly is live on XM right now, but UPop doesn't go away until the 23rd.

Well, since DTV customers receive XM Radio channels, the XM web site lists the holiday replacement channels at: http://xmradio.mediaroom.com/index.php?s=press_releases&item=848

The big task is to find out what of those channels DTV carries.

First I noticed was:
Special X-Mas on 848.
A Classical Christmas on 866.
Music City Holiday on 809 (maybe).

I guess that's a start.

Holiday Traditions channel did not push through and will be unavailable. on directv xm radio channels from my last email from them from 11/20/06

also the xmradio christmas channels are also maped to the 106-109 channels also.

and the Holly didn`t go live on D* untill late morning on Friday and it not showing the song tittles at bottom of the screen.

I'm curious though why D* would use two channels for each of the 4 XM holiday channels they are carrying. Why would they not choose to utilize one of the duplicate channels for Holiday Traditions.

i don`t know unless it was away for all subscribers of the total choice package to hear the christmas music also since some of them can`t get them in the 800 channels. since they don`t subscribe to the Total choice Plus channels.
