I would try these steps first and see if things start working after each one.

  1. Reboot your HR24.
  2. Restore your HR24's network settings to default and re-run network setup.
  3. Reboot the iPad.
I have my home network on the same subnet settings as you and things work fine. I think something just needs to be "kicked" in gear.

Can you press the [DASH] button on your HR24's remote and post what it says? Also, can you give us the IP addresses for you iPad and HR24?

Another thought... Are you sure you have logged in to the iPad app using the DIRECTV account associated with the HR24?

That would help with troubleshooting.

So you're not using SWiM and you have CAT5 connected from the HR24 to your wireless router right? The same router that the iPad is connected to?

I just want make sure the iPad and the HR24 are on the same network.
