Ok, so now that everybody is partnering up with DSL providers... AND PROVIDING $10 OFF... is DirecTV gonna follow suit?

If they have been they sure make it hard to find...

Satellite broadband is bad because of latency, it takes quite a long time to bounce a signal to a satellite in geosynchronous orbit and back to earth again. The transfers go fairly fast, but it takes a long time to get requests through. In most cases, you're MUCH better off with DSL or cable if they're available. Check out the satellite broadband forums on DSLReports sometime.
