directv dont have their own dsl, its really telocity with a directv brand name . i rather have satelite broadband but im not gona fork over $600 for a dish like that .
Satellite broadband is bad because of latency, it takes quite a long time to bounce a signal to a satellite in geosynchronous orbit and back to earth again. The transfers go fairly fast, but it takes a long time to get requests through. In most cases, you're MUCH better off with DSL or cable if they're available.
