DirecTV Expands Local Coverage, Adds Jacksonville

1025 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Karl Foster
DirecTV said it will begin transmitting local channels in Jacksonville, Fla., by early November, expanding to 51 the number of markets DirecTV will serve with local channels.

New local channel markets launched recently include Norfolk, Va., and Knoxville, Tenn., with plans to roll out local channels in New Orleans later this week. With the addition of Jacksonville, more than 67 percent of U.S. television households will have access to local broadcast channels via DirecTV.

Jacksonville customers will receive local channels from a DirecTV satellite at the 119-degree West Longitude (WL) orbital slot. Currently most local channels from DirecTV are broadcast from its primary orbital slot at 101 degrees WL.
