Amdocs products and services will continue to help DIRECTV maintain its innovative programming services and technology leadership and deliver a superior experience to its more than 15.5 million subscribers.
Under the terms of the expanded agreement, Amdocs will continue to provide DIRECTV with customer-facing business support systems (BSS), such as billing and customer management. Amdocs will also provide additional consulting services, and the two companies will work on a roadmap to allow DIRECTV to enhance its network-facing operations support systems (OSS) and integrate its BSS and OSS systems to enable the delivery of even more innovative services, including interactive television and advanced broadband services. Integrating BSS and OSS makes it easier for providers to deliver and maintain new services, thus dramatically improving the overall customer experience.
