My HOA requires that the DirecTV dish be installed on a pole or tripod.

Will the installation tech handle this?

The tech should be able to perform a pole mount, but give him a heads up if he precalls. A pole mount must be cemented in the ground. Please make sure the HOA is ok with that. It would be a good idea to have the HOA rules on hand to show the tech. Depending on who he works for, there may be a $75 custom installation charge.

FYI, if you own the house the HOA can't require you to use a pole mount, it's against the FCC regulations (google "OTARD"). But if you don't mond paying the $75, it might not be worth fighting.

If the OP has a single family house, then the HOA can't require a pole mount. But if he is in a condo or anything where he does not have ownership/control of the roof/exterior, then the pole mount might be a valid requirement.
