October starts the 4th quarter of the fiscal year. Generally all companies out there have quarterly offers that change as the year goes on. The only thing that changes with D* is that the NFL offer usually overlaps 3rd and 4th quarter.

Well the current promotion for NFL and Premier package says that it ends on 9/30/08 so I am guessing yes a new promotion.

My theory is that many people actually expect Directv to fulfill some of their promises about new programing sometime within the current decade.

It is just unfounded optimism. It has been very clear to me that Directv makes wild promises and then delivers on only some of those promises - but never in the time frames they originally state. It is the old "COMING SOON!" BS that Directv is so famous for.

Well the current promotion for NFL and Premier package says that it ends on 9/30/08 so I am guessing yes a new promotion.

The offer has actually been extended to 10/7/08 now. So we have to wait a bit longer for the new deal.

If I remember correctly last year after the Sunday Ticket deal ended new customers got 3 months free of HBO, Cinemax, and Showtime.
