Directv not bad after all

So I posted a question earlier asking if anyone had heard if Directv was going to offer packages to compete with Dish's TurboHD packages. Of course the answer was no. After a couple of weeks of thinking about I decided to switch to Dish. I called up Directv and told them I wanted to cancel and I told them why. To make a long store short, they offered me a deal I could not refuse. For a little more than the Dish package I am noW getting everything I wanted from Dish + starz and showtime for 6 months. SHe even offered me 1/2 price on Sunday ticket which I may still jump on (being a Chargers fan in Virginia is a drag!).

Anyway, I guess Directv does care about keeping it's customers and keeping them happy! Just wanted to share my happiness with someone that would listen :)

I am glad that you got what you wanted. I wish I could get E but sadly los is an issue. I love E's HDDVR 722!
I have honestly never had a problem with D's service. It is far superior to cable.
They actually called me once to offer me free STARZ for a month just to try it out.
They also upgraded me to a TiVo at no extra charge a few years back.I'm sure there are horror stories about dealing with them. But I think they do a good job trying to satisfy their customers.
I too am very please with DirecTv....
I pulled a "Bonehead manuever" about a year ago and switched to Time Warner, it was the worst 5 days of my TV viewing life, I quickly returned the TW equipment and unsuspended my account with D*, and even apologized for being asanign!
Yes DirecTV does care. Now the other guys that's another story.

I just switched, and after having a variant of TWC for 20 years this has been the best two weeks of my tv viewing life.

Now, just bring on Comedy Central HD!
I have been with D8 since 96 and never looked back. I have had a few experiences mostly with instaltion that I was not happy about but they made me happy by doing things to make up for poor service.
