Any truth to this from the Viamcom dispute? I am reading this on some wrestling websites. http://www.tnawrestlingnews.com/headlines/directv-offering-credits-the-updated-bfg-standings/

>A handful of people get something.
>Suddenly everyone thinks customers are equal.

XD

It probably is real but that doesnt mean everyone will get it.
Hmm. I thought it was being done automatically. That is why I asked. I don't intend calling like the hoards are basically taking advantage of Directv. By so many people doing these low ball tactics. It will effect rates down the line if it keeps up. I do think Directv should be crediting customers bills $2.80 the cost to customers that get Viacom channels until this is sorted out.

Very well said and I agree :biggthump
I was told by a CSR when i called in to just ask about it and i was told it was automatically being done for all customers.I signed into my account online and i have a $10.00 a month credit for 1 year i never even asked for and showtime free for 6 months i never asked for.So it must be something they are doing for all customers.I just checked and all the showtime channels are on for me.If its not for everyone I dont know whats happening.
Isn't Showtime owned by Viacom? This is getting strange.

You don't get it for free unless you request it, and I doubt if they are obligated to give it to you. They will credit you $5 x 3 for the asking.

The Showtime giveaway is a $78 value. You have to wonder if it even costs DTV $15 they way they are giving it away for free.
No Showtime or bill credit showing up here...
Nor here.

Showtime is wholly owned by CBS.
ive only been getting th encore channels for free. thats it. that was done automatically.
no credit or anything.

Ill admit, I never watch any of the viacom channels with exception to comedy central. it wouldnt be the end of the world for me if these ever came back. I can just watch the tosh.o clips online, and the only other show i watch on that channel is workaholics.

I do expect the bill to go down if this last a while though. thats alot of channels. Even though i dont watch them much, I will be calling soon to ask for a $10 credit per bill until this gets resolved
I yesterday and received $5.00 off and free Showtime for 2 months. Better than nothing at all. The only channel that I really miss is Comedy Central.
I spoke to a CSR and retentions got $10.00 off for 3 months. All depends who you talk to and how you approach them.
it depends on how good of a customer you are, do you pay on time, is your contract expired, etc.
I called them on Sunday, and after surprising the CSR by thanking them for removing the Viacom channels and hope they don't come back, I got three months of showtime free (whoopie).
Called in on the weekend, received a $10.00 credit off of my bill and an additional $5.00 a month off of Showtime, for 3 months.
Got $5 for 2 whole months! Reminded to watch Disney Jr. too.
I called in today to inquire about the credits on my account and the CSR was a really nice lady she explained the $10.00 off a month i was given was for free HD for 1 year and also 6 months of Free Showtime. She looked at my account and saw I had been with Directv from 1995 till the Present day and she said I had been a valued customer then she said lets see what I can do for you myself today and without even asking for anything again this kind lady offered and gave me 6 months of the Free Starz pack and 3 Free months of the HD Extra Pack.I said thats not why i called in and she said with the Viacom vs. Directv situation they have alot of leeway to make offers the normally are not able to make.So I thanked the nice lady and wished her a nice day and that was all.Checked my account online and there were more credits added. And Starz and the HD Extra Pack is now on.
