Bingo....I received an email regarding this increase like 2 or 3 months prior to my February billing. Plus it's basically a standard practice that the prices will increase a few bucks each February. At least that's how it's been since I've had Directv. Shouldn't be of any surprise to anyone.spartanstew said:It should not have been news to you. It was communicated by D* via various venues months ago.
Dear pfp,
We recently made an error in communicating a price change to you which we are in the process of correcting. In January we sent you an incomplete bill insert that detailed upcoming changes to some of our product and service names. The bill insert you received did not detail our new pricing plans effective February 9, 2012.
We apologize for this error. Click here for more complete details of the correct bill insert with the complete 2012 pricing and service name changes. We regret this error occurred and as a result we will credit your account $5 for the month of February. This credit will offset the price of the increase you incurred without the proper notification and it will be applied to your account this week. The credit will appear on your next billing statement. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Thank you for your patience and for being a loyal DIRECTV customer. We truly appreciate your business.
Sincerely,
DIRECTV
Several items went up, DVR fee has been $7 for years now....and it went up $1.The Fuzz 53 said:I just got my bill for this month and they hiked my price by $4. My programming package increased $3 and is now called "Total Choice Extra Classic" and they hiked the DVR fee $1 to $8. Has anyone else noticed this?
Yes, a very (I mean VERY) small number of customers had a pricing increase bill insert issue that had to be corrected due to their bill cycle date. You were one of those customers apparently. They were notified yesterday of that correction and resolution.pfp said:Well, I received this email yesterday so obviously they had some issues communicating this price change and perhaps people should get of their high horse and give the OP a break.
That was probably what happened to MadMac (see above).Satelliteracer said:Yes, a very (I mean VERY) small number of customers had a pricing increase bill insert issue that had to be corrected due to their bill cycle date. DVR fee has been $7 for a year now, not "years".CCarncross said:Several items went up, DVR fee has been $7 for years now....and it went up $1.
As with any business when their cost goes up it's passed on to the customers. It's to be expected. The Fuzz 53 said:I just got my bill for this month and they hiked my price by $4. Was it $6 then..it has never been $1 as long as I have had a DVR(6+years now)ThomasM said:DVR fee has been $7 for a year now, not "years".
The OP was complaining that it had been increased by $1 not from $1.CCarncross said:Was it $6 then..it has never been $1 as long as I have had a DVR(6+years now)
