Wow. Just saw a "DirecTV with TiVo" vs "Dish" commercial. Never thought I'd see that. I know, I know, people who are intrigued by the commercial will probably end up with a HRx but it's good to see the new box advertised.

I imagine Tivo and Directv have some kind of contract where D* has to spend x number of $ and run ads on it's channels.

Sure they would rather you sign up for a HRxx, but there are tivo lovers, and if it means a new subscriber with a THR-22 defecting from Dish. Everyone's a winner!

With the ordering glitch the wife and I were contemplating comcast with cablecard/tivo instead. I told d* this after the 4th delivery was f*ed up. We don't care about HD as much as we do tivo. Now that we have kids we have a lot of our space devoted to the SD kids programming (so do not care if Dora is in hd or not). The only things we record in HD are our watch and delete shows so we do not chew up our space available.

You tried 4 times and couldn't get a tivo. I had a little trouble when the installer came in the morning he didn't have a tivo on his truck but he went and got one and brought it back in the afternoon.

Were they drop shipped to you?

I like how DirecTV portray's this as an "ordering glitch". I wonder how many people were talked in to keeping the DTV DVR free because of the 'glitch'. I don't know what is worse is if this glitch was intential or DTV is just incompentent. Just checkout thier facebook page. People either want Disney Jr or ripping their constumer service reps to shreads.

I wonder how long before someone posts the 'glitch' was TiVo's fault or UPS or Fed Ex's. As we know DirecTV does no wrong

If you want to order a TiVo and have it drop shipped use the website for now. There is a known issue with an agent ordering it through an agent and the incorrect product being shipped. It should be resolved soon but the website doesn't have the error.

If a tech is supposed to deliver it then the tech is just not looking at the new field on the work order which designates if it's a TiVo or if it's a normal HR.
