Hi guys,
Help me if you can. I have a VIP 622 that is on the fritz. It's mine I own it. Dish won't fix it. In the mean time, I have an old 301 that I've pulled out of my closet and I can't get the "check switch" to work.

Here is my setup,

Dish 1000 pointed at 110, 119, and 129.

One Dish 1000 output going to my kids 311 reveiver and the other output going to my 622.

At the receiver end of each cable is a DPP separator.

Obviously, my 622 is no longer there. And as I said before, I can't get the check switch to work with the 301.

Should I be using the DPP Separator with the 301??

No. THE DPP Seperator is only for use with Dual tuner DishProPlus receivers.

Thanks...I'll try it again without the seperator.

After trying it again without the separator, I run the Check Switch, and it starts off saying that it is performing test 1 of 1 is hangs for a second then changes to test 1 of 38. It then continues to count up to 38 finally saying that there is no signal.

I plug my 622 back in and everything works fine. (my 622 has a heating problem. Shuts itself off after about 5 minutes)


Any suggestions?

Also, the options for the switch test are Superdish or Alternate.

The solution....Get a better connection!! I replaced the fitting on the end of the cable and Bam!!
