I replaced a dish 500 dish with a 24" Winegard DS4610 for reduced rain fade on 61.5. I am surprised to see only an average 3 to 4 increase in my signal level on my 622. (signals are mostly in the 50's and 60's now in W. Ma.) Does this seem like a reasonable result?

If those are dB numbers (which I believe they are) it means twice the signal strength.

24 inch dish has about 4500 sqin, 18 inch D300 has 2500 sqin, so the 24 is about double the reflective area.

Today I installed the Winegard 30" DS-2077. My results are between 20% and 60% signal strength increase on 61.5. I would say the average is about 25% from a Dish500 with I adapter. Most are between 50 and 84 now on the new signal strength meter. I should be getting my 24" Winegard soon and will post a comparison. The 30" is a bit big for my liking and suprisingly touchy to aim.

Installed the DS4061 24" today. Signal strengths are only a few points off from the 30" and the 24" is much sturdier. Again, very tough to aim using the receiver's meter but worth the effort.

I highly recommend this DS4061 Winegard dish to increase signal strength. I'll be selling my 30 inchers.
