DISH has Obama Channel, Will DTV Counter?

Well, DISH network has started the Obama channel. It's called "Barack Obama's Plan For America," and is Dish channel 73.

Will DirecTV counter with the McCain channel? From what I have read, they are trying to cater to a "higher class" of customer - people who have good credit ratings, credit cards, e.g. people who show personal responsibility, so it would only make sense to me for them to add this - and add it quickly!

Maybe they could even do it in HD. I know McCains commercials that I have seen have not been recorded in HD, but it hasn't stopped some current HD channels form going that route (think MTV HD)....

Anyway, this post is just for fun, I'm interested to see the comments that may follow!;)

If you want the post to where I found this article, it is here, but a good Google search will probably find you better articles on this.

My prediction has died. Please bow your heads in a moment of silence. :(
There's nothing political about Dish allowing the Obama channel. His campaign paid for it and gave the McCain campaign the same chance.
Seriously, though, the Dish channel is a paid ad, not an endorsement. McCain is welcome to have one on Dish, too. It's up to DirecTV to decide if they want to accept cash for such a channel (and the respective campaigns to ask)

Who said there was anything political about it? In fact the word political hasn't appeared in this thread until post 17. :sure: ;)
So another "paid programming" ... What a waste of bandwidth..
