I did a google search and several used or new ones. You can buy one thru amazon.com and their sellers. If I wanted to buy one instead of lease . I would get a new one. Only because a used one . A person might still owe fees and you wouldnt be able to use without paying them. As for hooking it up . It depends how the dish was originally installed.
Dish HD receiver
I currently have a Vip722 and a 625 installed with a Dish 1000. I wanted to know if I can buy another Vip722 and replace the 625. If I buy one on Ebay or some where else. What would I need to do to install it (do I just hook it up or do I need to do something with the Dish itself), and activate it (do I just do it online)?

YES the 722 will directly replace the 625 Both are dual tuner receivers and with the 1000 dish you should have a single cable going to a separator. Just screw the separator onto the 722 and call DISH to activate.
