Hi,

I moved to sunnyvale (94087) california and trying to take dish network.

I'm thinking of 2 receivers - One HDDVR and One SD receiver. I belive VIP 722 can take care of it and currently its just $50 one time fee and no recurring monthly fees.

I would be taking Top 100 + BronzeHD + Locals + Internationals. I guess they will instal a Dish 1000 plus antenna. I have a clear view of south sky (i belive south west for northern california?)

I need to have home phone and high speed internet...cant decide between at&t and comcast.

Any advantage with taking At&T and dish combo?

Please advise.

You will have a recurring lease fee, and second tuner fee for a leased ViP722.
I believe it is a total of $11./mo, or close to that.

IMO, there is only a disadvantage in using AT&T over using DISH directly....you cannot deal directly with DISH for any issues, including billing, technical support, etc., everything must go through AT&T.

You would probably save a few dollars (5-10) by bundling your land-line/DSL and DISH through AT&T, but if you have any technical/service related issues, dealing directly with DISH has proven to be the superior choice.

Another thing is that all the homezone HDDVRs that I have seen are 622s instead of 722s which would give you less hard drive space. It also seems thought that new customers that go straight thought E* get the 612 now for free and the 722 cost a $50 upgrade fee.

the second tuner fee gets waived with phone line connected. and as the only receiver on the account, there would be no lease fee. Assuming as a new customer he is signing up under Dish DVR Advantage...no monthly fees for the receiver

Ahh, right...my first 921 had no fees...it's all the added receivers that do :)
