So I am a happy dish customer. Had dish at my parents for 10+ years, they took over the account. In my new house I had no LOS to 110 119, so that was a bust. When I read about the EA I was like "YES!". Signed up, dish came out and installed, everything worked. A year later I am moving now. We are renting the house next door (literally) while ours sells (long story). Got everything moved (phone, internet, utils) called dish for dish mover. Set everything up and 2 free reciever upgrades SWEET. Had been using the 211 boxes. Was set for a free 612 and free 722, awesome. I visit many sites to research and know I can get a signal at the new house. Tech 1 comes out, I explain everything and go to my laptop to work while he works. 20 min later, knock knock, No LOS. :( What? Did they take a dish up and meter to verify, no. Tech left said supervisor would be out at a later date and to talk to him. OK, have no choice here. Left to run some errands, get home an hour later to find dish van in front of the house, engine running, new tech in van. I thought strange but OK i am home anyway. As soon as i park, van flies in reverse down the street and does a U-turn, then speeds off. :confused:OK weird, whoever they were they left a nice pair of sunglasses on my driveway, HAH.
So i guess that makes 2 techs in 1 day. Called dish said what's going on? they said they would send a supervisor out and set up a new appointment for the weekend. Saturday comes Tech 3 arrives, i set up my ladder and already was on the roof verifying LOS on my own. Everything looks great, show the new tech, he walks around with his compass and says no LOS, I said HUH:eek2:? showed him where the dish should go and that the 45 degree elevation will easily clear the trees, he said no go. wouldnt even take up a dish and meter to verify. i asked him about the 1000.2 EA set up and he had no idea what it was, I asked for 2 dishes 1 for 72 and 1 for 61 as i dont need 77 for the Washington DC market and dont want any spanish programming. He said No and left. I thought dish was supposed to do whatever they can to get you service, even if 3 dishes are required. Not an hour later another dish van shows up and the guy says he is there to verify LOS, i said sweet. I knew there was a problem when he didnt want to get his ladder down. He walked around with the compass and said no, then left. 4 techs all say no, but i say yes.
Call dish up they tell me I can PURCHASE a dish online and test on my own and if i can get a signal they will come out and install the rest. I see no alternative, so i went online and purchased a 1000.4 and set it up. I have clear LOS and a signal from 72 and 61.5, dont care about 77. Call dish up and they tell me i have to purchase receivers as they cant do anymore work orders. WHAT? I tell the man what has happened and that i have LOS now and to just send the tech to install the new boxes, no go. I asked him what i was supposed to do, "technically you arent supposed to have service now" so for the last 4 weeks i was charged for service that i shouldnt have been, wow change of story he miraculously created a work order. We shall see what happens tomorrow.
I feel like taking my dish down and making them install a new one and return mine for the money back.
I do have a question if any of you can help.
zip code 22030 for EA 1000.4
I have 72.7 signal in the 60's coming in on the LNB for 77, if i rotatte the dish I can get 61.5 in the upper 60's on LNB for 77 (tin foil test). I cannot get them to come in on the proper LNB's or at the same time. How can i adjust it to get signal on 72.7 LNB and 61.5 LNB at the same time, I have tried everything i can think of. I only need those 2 sat's.
Any tips would be great.
Any Dish reps reading this take note on what not to do to keep a customer, I feel like i should get a credit for $100 for the dish (and shipping) as well as a couple of months free programming. I dont see why a customer should have to work so hard to give you my money.:nono2::nono:

Thanks for reading and any suggestions,
Buni

No, why would they push everything back to 110 119:eek2:? i am sure they gained a lot of customers (myself included) by having 72 available. Is this something they are planning to do soon? why would they do that, the cost to them would be huge to have to install new dishes, release people from contracts.
Hopefully it isnt the case for me.

I recall the arc flips that dish was doing when i worked there, i cant remember the details for the life of me but im pretty darn sure it wasnt an entire swap. If i remember correctly only certain locals and international channels were moved and not everyone on the EA would be affected.

Its been over 2 months since i worked at Dish so things could have changed and my memory could very well be foggy but i personally dont think the arc swaps are what stopped the installers from doing there job that day.

Dish has renewed my faith. Tech came out this morning, adjusted the dish to get all 3 sat's even though i dont need all 3. He even install some reinforcing bars to the mast that will help stableize it in the wind. Then he installed the new 612 and 722 and we are cooking with grease. Even have a better signal than at my old house next door!!:hurah:

Rookie mistake, said i needed to rotate the mast around so it would be a perfect 90 deg on my roof. I thought i had it at 90, oh well. Dish has me for at least 2 years more, probably longer.
YAY dish +1

Good to see it working - and yes, the rule that the mast must be perfectly level at the top and perfectly vertical makes the install much more easier. One can compensate for a poorly installed mast but it isn't trivial.

Update - dish executive support chat couldnt understand why i was charged for a tech visit and 2 recievers, he is issuing some credits but not a full credit for both recievers.

The charges were 100 per reciever and whatever a tech visit is. I am about to log in to dish to see if any of the credits have been applied yet. we shall see.

You won't see the credits online until the new bill is generated. If you would PM your account information to me, I can check to see if the credits have been applied to your account. Please let me know. Thanks.
