It is currently available depending on where you live. I'm not sure why it's not on the website yet. Anyway, speeds are 12Mbps down with three service levels (download caps):

10 GB - $49.99
15 GB - $79.99
25 GB - $129.99

$99 upfront cost
$10/month equipment fee
24 month commitment
$5 bundle discount when bundled w/ AT 120 or above
(all info from my DNS training packet)

I've only installed one so far, but it was a noticeable improvement over old WB systems. The latency still exists, but page flipping is much faster than before, the whole page pops in pretty much at once, not in stages like before. Average speedtests so far have been 6-10Mbps down / 2-4Mbps up. For the average internet surfer / music downloader it should be more than adequate.

That sounds like a web page accelerator at work.

The Exede technology is called AcceleNet...a web page request is sent to the AcceleNet servers where all the content is gathered and compressed, then sent to the Gateway server for transmitting via Satellite back to the customer's modem, which has the AcceleNet decompression firmware built into the modem.

This accelerator technology not only speeds up web page loading but reduces the number of bytes counted against the customer's Data Allowance Policy, which is a sum of both download and upload bytes.

Early testing indicates AcceleNet reduces the web page byte count by about 50% (average) from what would have been counted without AcceleNet...

Of course AcceleNet does not compress file or video downloads that are already compressed.

I've had Exede12 since Feb. 23rd....all spot beams are now open..

It's an amazing difference from the old Wildblue Legacy plans..I'm a happy camper with the service..:)

I meant to mention Latency, which is now about 630ms, vs the >1200ms I had on the old Legacy system..

This is because everyone on the spot-beam gets the same speed so WB/Exede was able to eliminate the old "Wait for my turn" technology, which was used to time-share customers with different speed packages...

VOIP and Skype work well now...VPN's work much better..
