The 771 error is a searching for signal error. What are your signal strengths? I would bet thats where the problem is.Nutter said:

I have reset, rebooted, pulled the power plug and still nothing.
In the same room I have a HR10-250, I can get the MPEG2 HD channels no problem and also regular SD.
I have also tried switching the cables but this did nothing for me. I call DTV last night and got a CSR that .. well lets just say it was late and he was maybe tired, but I got no help other than "pay $79 for a service call".
So anyone here care to take a stab at my problem ?

Congrats and enjoy.Nutter said:I called DTV and got an appointment date of next Thursday ! So I decided to look into the problem a little closer. I found 2 problems. First I had a B-Band filter going bad. Once I replaced that I set about re-aiming the dish. The signal strength on the 99 SAT was very low 0 - 50, I did a fine tune setup of the dish twice and nailed the signal up into the 90's.
Now I have nice clear video and the audio matches up better too.
