Yes, if the guide data provided to Tribune Media Services from the networks is correct, it will be correct on Dish Network. But, keep in mind that the 501 does not yet use name based recording, so if you have a 60 minute weekly timer set up for Gray's Anatomy, it will not adjust to record 70 minutes automatically.
Dish TV Listings
I have an older 501, but I was just wondering if they ever get the times right on the network shows, for instance, Grey's Anatomy almost always runs over a minute or two, I also have DirecTV and the TIVO almost always lists the shows that are running 61 or 62 minutes long correctly. I see that Dish does have Grey's listed as running 70 minutes this week, but normally they don't seem to have the listings correct.

To be fair... the networks do not always start/end on a specific time on purpose. One week it may start at 9 and end at 10:01... next week it might start at 8:59 and end at 10:00... to some extent they seem to do this on purpose to keep you from DVRing and watching another channel week-to-week. Of course if you just start/end longer then you work-around their work-around!

Check out Desperate Housewives for this Sunday, does it list it from 9:00 to 10:00, if so, it's incorrect, it will actually be 9:00 to 10:01 and Boston Legal will be from 10:01 to 11:00 , my guide lists DH as Start: 9:00 pm End: 10:00 pm, that is incorrect, check out zap2it.com and it will list it correctly.Mark Lamutt said:Yes, if the guide data provided to Tribune Media Services from the networks is correct, it will be correct on Dish Network. NOT true! DISH continues to intentionally round off all start and stop times to be an even multiple of 5 minutes. To DISH, a show can only start/stop at :00, :05, ... messing up recordings of shows that run a minute or two late - just as their Tribune Media published times have indicated. DISH does pickup time changes to the closest 5 minutes. If it actually runs 3 minutes long, you get the 1st two minutes of the next show. I don't know how much longer Zap2It will list the 240s for distant networks, but if you change AT120 to All Channels at

and pick Wed prime time and scroll down to , you should see a white area in Medium to indicate it doesn't "fill" the block. Clicking on it shows Medium to start at 10:01. TiVo or DirecTiVo will correctly note the :01 start time and DISH will ignore it and treat it as :00 - no matter how far in advance the published schedule reflects :01.

Zap2It (Tribune Media) doesn't identify all the times that DISH is going to round off start/end times with white blocks, but it does a pretty good job.
