DishNetwork PQ

I recently signed up for the DishNetwork Digital Home Plan. Before that I was a DirecTV customer and had no problems with my setup...PQ or anything else. Since I have switched to E* my PQ is awful. A lot of pixelation on most channels. I have a 301 and a 501 receiver and returned the 501 because I thought it was the problem. The PQ is the same with the new 501. Its more noticeable on my 501 because I have an S-Video connection to my Sony VVega set. The DishNetwork install is using the same cabling and mount as my DirecTV was. The only difference is the Dish 500 dish and the 301 and 501 receivers. I have a bad feeling this is just a typical DishNetwork picture due to the heavy compression used by E*. Any suggestions?

With my answer below I am giving you a top not trying to be a wise guy. :)

Try turning down your brightness, sharpness and contrast and see if that makes a difference.

I know many people who have tried that (who said nothing was wrong with their picture before) and were satisfied with their results.

It dont hurt to give it a shot. :)
THE PICTURE ON MY NEW SONY XBR36 IS AWFUL. DURING SPORTING EVENTS IT CAN BE UNBEARALBE. I HAVE READ MY DIFFERENT OPINIONS, SOME SAY IT WILL IMPROVE WITH THE NEW BIRDS OTHER SAY THE PIXELATION IS NORMAL AND ALWAYS BE THERE. I AM THINKING ABOUT TRYING DIRECT TV. THE PROBLEM IS I JUST SIGNED ONE YEAR AGREEMENT WITH THE 501. I AM HOPING FOR SOME IMPROVEMENT IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS. I HAVE TRIED THE FINE TUNING. SOME CHANNELS ARE FINE OTHER NOT SO FINE. SOME COMMERCIALS ARE REALLY BAD. IS THERE HOPE? OR SHOULD I GO AHEAD AND TRY DIRECT TV?
Charlie said that PQ will improve some (now there's an ambigious term!) with Echostar 7. Echostar 8 would help much more. Is Echostar 8 still a go for this summer?
At the moment, Dish is in the process of transferring all programming from E*4 to E*7, so compression is increased as programming is transferred.

Hmmm.... I wonder if there is a possibility that some programming that isn't part of AT70 pack will be moved over to 110 temporarily.
Personally, I've seen improvements since E*7 was brought online. In particular, the most annoying PQ effect - the one where faces change shape if they move slightly, seems to be gone, thankfully.

In general, the superstations seem to have improved, gauging from this weekend's shows versus the previous weekend.
