OK, here's my question.
I install Dish in south central Minnesota and there are 4 counties left that don't get the local DMA's. I am starting to get orders coming in to install off air antenna's. In much of my install country they can currently get NBC and Fox via the distant networks, no CBS because of a local affiliate. Now I have in the past put up a few OTA in the area and had no luck getting anything but the local CBS channel. The antenna's that are supplied are not very big and have no booster with them. Now remember CBS is one that they don't get via dish anyway and people are not happy. Alot of this area is river valley and the OTA tower is about 35 miles away, according to antenna web. Now if the customers are not happy with the situation are they still bound to their contract? I have had several customers ask but I can not get any answers. Let me know what you think.
Thanks

It would be useful to know the provisions of the contract but I doubt there is a line that says if the customer is simply unhappy with X, it's a deal breaker. If a services (such as networks) is not provided, they cannot of course be charged for them but I rather doubt they get to jettison their super-duper platinum 5 year committment or first born child contract for a peripheral issue. What has this to do with you anyway? You are not providing the programming service just installation. Or did I miss something?

Talking to you is their most direct option. You should get up to speed on OTA antenna installations.

Start here as a primer: http://www.starkelectronic.com/cmig1.htm

Then become friends with this nearby supplier of antennas: http://www.warrenelectronics.com/
They can hold your hand until you're comfortable on your own.
