No one has tried it, but it shouldn't work.
Just to clarify, are you saying you would expect it to fail?flipptyfloppity said:No one has tried it, but it shouldn't work.
Yes, it should fail. Unless there is some kind of special bypass mode we haven't heard of in the SWMline, it shouldn't work, since SWM functionality is not stackable (meaning you can't connect the output of one to the input of another).paragon said:Just to clarify, are you saying you would expect it to fail?
Ah, we've got our wires crossed here. I am not talking about the SWMline, I am talking about the Slimline3 (99,101,103 only).flipptyfloppity said:Yes, it should fail. I'm wondering about the Slimline3 (non-SWM), not the SWMline.houskamp said:won't work..
SWMLine (both the 3 and 5) has no "standard" outputs.. SWM8 needs the 4 separate lines from a standard dish..

I believe there is also a Slimline3 (like a 5-lnb but missing the 110 and 119 lnbs). I don't think the SWMline3 has even been released yet.houskamp said:??
there are IIRC:
old 3lnb
slimline (5lnb without SWM)
SWMLine (5lnb with SWM built in)
and SWMline3 (new 3lnb with SWM)
I didn't know there WAS an SWM Slimline-3!? Where do they sell them?flipptyfloppity said:wow. Learn something new every day. I did not know there was a non-SWM slimline 3.
It definitely should work just like a slimline5 would.
They don't sell any SWMlines just yet. But I thought the installs of slimline3s were SWMline3s, no?bruinfever said:I didn't know there WAS an SWM Slimline-3!? Where do they sell them?
Thanks for the clarification Tom....Tom Robertson said:The SL3S, the SWMline 3 is not available yet. Rumored and expected, that is all.
The SL3, the Slimline is compatible with SWM8, WB68, and WB616 and is just now becoming available in limited markets that do not get their SD locals from 110 or 119.
Cheers,
Tom
