OK since the other thread mentions to only post if HDMI is NOT working with your set, I thought it might be interesting to see who has HDMI working with the HR20 and what their set ups are.

I just set up my Dads new Olevia 232V - 32" LCD with HDMI direct (no switches or receivers). So far it has been working great, no audio or video issues.

What type of setup do you have HDMI working with?

I think the intent is to use the "process of elimination" concept....all HDMI works except those still reported in that thread.

HR20 Firmware has been upgrade alot in the past 30 days, with far fewer HDMI compatiibility issues left (handful). That's why the "who is still having problems" approach has been taken,

Mine is working (last time I checked). I have a Hitachi 42 inch plasma, with 3 HDMI inputs (using one for HR20 and one for a Sony DVD player). After last update, I switched back from component to HDMI, and so far, no problems. I also have a toslink to my HT receiver, for DD 5.1 use (which I only use for movies, some sports, etc.).

I have two hr20s running into my Denon 4306 using HDMI. I also have my Panasonic DVD recorder running into the Denon using component.
From the Denon, I run an HDMI cable to my Mits 73" DLP. (The Denon upscales the DVD signal to 1080i.) I have the hr20s both set at 1080i so the Denon just throughputs the signal to the tv.

I was having some dropouts on one of the two HDMI inputs on the tv, but since changing the settings on the Denon to NOT convert the signal from my hr20s, it seems more stable. (I was apparently doing a double conversion previously.) FWIW, the HDMI 2 input on the tv has always been as stable as a rock--never had a dropout. I figure the HDMI 1 input must be a little more sensitive to fluctuations in signal strength/quality.

Since the last s/w upgrade, I have not lost any programming due to "partial" or "unwatchable" recordings. I did have one incident where I lost four "partial" recordings on one night on the previous s/w iteration.

If we ever get the ability to network two or more hr20s and we get CBS HD in the Las Vegas DMA, I will be as happy as a clam.

Working here since Day 3 (had to wait for the cable). :)

HR20
Sharp LC-52D62U - 52" LCD
HDMI direct connected to TV, no switch.

Audio works over HDMI through TV speakers, but I dont use it, it is there just for testing... The rest of the time, I use optical out from the HR20 to my receiver.

Thanks,
Mb

HDMI Video running to a Philips 37" LCD. Audio runs optical direct to my receiver. It worked flawlessly until version 0xDC, then I was having problems with 1080i Crop not working right [picture became 2x too tall sometimes]. Problem hasn't appeared since version 0xEB and at this point everything is running well.

No HDMI problems here with a Sony KDF60XS955.

I can even use the TV's optical audio out into my receiver and get the same conditions as I had running the optical audio out from the HR20 into the receiver.

I do wish the "sync" and format changes that take place when I change channels happened a LOT faster, but it's only 2-4 seconds or "normal."

Mine has worked fine since I got it in September with all updates into my 32-inch Panasonic LCD.

It also works fine into my just-purchased Panasonic 52-inch projection model.

Part of the reason I wanted to stay with Panny was the lack of HDMI issues.

EDIT: My signature gives the wrong model number of the 52-inch TV. If it matters to anyone, it is the PT-52LCX66.

HDMI working perfectly from day one. Never even hooked up the component cables.

Day one (when HR20 came online) - Nov 6
Day one (for the TV) - Nov 3

TV: Mitsubishi WD-Y57 (57732 equiv)
HDMI cable: GE 8', bought at Target for $35.

I run Native on: 480p, 720p, 1080i (TV is 1080p). During channel changes/Starting to play a recorded show when the output is changing format, there is a 2-3 second delay while things sync up, but have never had a problem with failing to synch.
