The superdish can receive 119 & 110 so unless some programming you subscribe to moves to 118 you won't need a 500+.jarvantgroup said:I'm not sure, but if they're not going to use 121 (Superdish) anymore, will all customers with Superdishes have to change to say a Dish 500+?
sometimes the birds get outdated a little sooner then expected, or they make soo much money, hand over fist that a better bird is worth the cost and makes for less aggravation!. I doubt they will just thow 121 away, I am sure they will lease it out or sell it off.alebowgm said:I am sure Dish will use it for some compelling content, if not just leasing out the TPs to customers. Dish spent a lot of money putting a Dish up there, so I can't see them just throwing it away...
Not correct, 121 is EchoStar 9 which coexists on the same bus with Intelsat Americas 13. It is not going anywhere and they have entered into a long term agreement to provide FSS capacity to a phone company for emergency operations in times of disaster. The internationals there will not likely shutdown until a substantial portion of the users have 118.7 capability. Could be many years.boba said:121 and 105 are not owned by DISH they are FSS satellites that DISH leases.
how far (feet, miles etc. ) is 118.7 and 119? anyways.. they are almost slamming into each other looking at those numbers.JohnH said:Not correct, 121 is EchoStar 9 which coexists on the same bus with Intelsat Americas 13. but am I correct in saying that all you need to get 118.7 and 119 is a new LNB(F) and a switch.
