Does DirecTV normally leave you your old dish when you upgrade?

The installer came by on Saturday and upgraded me from the old oval dish to the Slimline.

My wife noticed last night that the old oval dish is still sitting on the ground in the backyard.

Do they usually just leave it?

What can I do with it? :scratchin :whatdidid

Yes, it is yours. You might be able to give it away....
Question: Since they are upgrading my dish in a week, what are some places I could give it away at....or should I keep it?

I haven't the faintest clue what to do with it

Just put it out in front of your house with a free sign. It'll be gone in 20 minutes, guaranteed.
When I was upgraded to the 5 LNB HD dish, the installer left my old dish installed. We live in Florida, and he told me that if a hurricane was coming our way, I should take the new dish off of the pole mount (which would survive the hurricane), and showed me what cables to connect so I could still get a signal on my primary set.

So, depending on what happens in your area, you might want to consider having them leave the old dish.

Just my opinion.

Or put it out in front of your house with a "For Sale: $100" sign on it and it'll be gone in five minutes!

Actually, I'm glad the installer left my 3LNB dish as it would be easy to connect to if something happened to the 5LNB.
My installer left my old dish on my roof. I wasn't sure if he was lazy about taking it down or if I actually still have my SD boxes connected to it. He was gone before I realized that he left it there.

If you haven't rid yourself of the dish yet, I could use it. I would be happy to pay shipping for it and perhaps a little something for your time and trouble.:D
He left my 3 LNB because I own it. I'll keep it for a backup should something die on the new dish, I can just put up the old 3LNB and still be running with most channels until the 5 LNB get's fixed.
Mine would be sooo easy to connect if the AT9 died. The coax from the Phase III comes up to a grounding block that connects to the AT9 and then into the house.

Right now, until HD additions or changes are made, I'd get everything on the small one that I get on the 5LNB.

It is absolutely amazing how much stuff I get rid of that way. Sure saves a lot of dump fees.:D
