I have a wired connection with a D-link EBR 2310 modem and a fast internet connection (15-20 mbps), but my downloads seem slow. Would things speed up if I disabled the firewall protection to my two HR-20's? Would I risk any problems by doing so?
Does disabling firewall help DOD?

I would not suggest doing that and I don't think it will make any difference anyway.
The slower speeds is from DIRECTV's end. The DoD programs only upload so fast on their end because so many people downloading DoD.
My internet is about 12MB down on average and I only use 3MB to 6MB when downloading DoD.
