Originally when DVR Advantage was announced it had 18 month Dish Home Protection Plan(DHPP) included.

I went with DDA 8 months ago, but the csr is saying that I don't have DHPP. My bill doesn't say that either. The current description for DDA says DHPP is extra. Did they take it out or it never had it.

I signed up for Dish Advantage and it never had DHPP.
i belive DHPP is no charge only when you are under contract. If you are no longer under contract then I think it is around $5 a month..
DishDVRAdvantage has never had DHPP ($5.99/month) linked to it. New Subscriptions get DHPP for 9 months (was 12 for a while, and 18 before that). Not for the duration of the commitment, or included if you make a new commitment of 18/24 months as an existing customer.

The Quote in the Original Post of the thread you cite was about DDA for NEW customers. Rob mentions that existing customers can take advantage of DDA, but you shouldn't be thinking that DHPP is part of the existing customer Dish'n It Up, or included with DDA.

The "announcement" of DDA including DHPP isn't clear, but a new sub would get DHPP even if they didn't use DDA and just signed up for AT100.

Never take a CSR's word for anything. Instead ask a Tech. This is not an absolute, but Techs seem to have the ability to actually read the account details with clearer comprehension.
As a new customer in March of '07, I got free DHPP for the duration of my 18 month commitment. What it's like now, I have no idea.
Like others have said and to my knowledge, DHPP is not part of DVR Advantage, it is an add on.

However, if all your gear is leased it may not be worth it to you. Here is a statement I got from Dish Network a while back about DHPP:

Customers who do not have DHPP are subject to fees associated with the box exchange shipping cost and/or service truck roll to the customer's home. Depending on the type of service requested, the customer will be assessed between $14.95 for standard shipping, or if scheduling a service call the fee can be as high as $99. For customers who have leased equipment, we do not assess any Out of Warranty fees.

DHPP offers the customer a free shipping exchange and discounted service call of $29.

I got mine in November 07 and only got 12 months free. I hope what some said earlier about getting free with an additional 18 or 24 month commitment is true. So far I love dish, except for them removing NFL network under the AT 100 and I wouldn't mind committing,
