A friend of mine is thinking of switching to Directv. He currently has a Tivo connected to a TV antenna. His favorite Tivo feature is the 30 second skip. I have an HR20 and also love the 30 second skip which is a hidden feature that you have to activate.

Is 30 second skip available on the standard def Plus DVR receivers? If so, how go you activate it? Is it available on all SD DVRS? 30 second SLIP just doesn't do the job.

The R15 only has 30-sec SLIP. It does not have the ability to activate a skip.

The R15 and R16 only has 30 sec slip.

The R22 has 30 sec slip and 30 sec skip. The R22 has all the same features as the HR2x's except it does not do HD.

The R22 is in very limited distribution right now, mainly only to areas receiving MPEG4 SD locals. It is unknown when or whether it will go into wider distribution.

The R22's are available at Best Buy now and DirecTV.

The R22's are now available to all DirecTV subscribers.
