I've recently converted from an HR10. I've read that many cable boxes have a max output of less than 1920x1080i, but was always told the HDTivo could pass it (assuming I received the signal OTA). What about the HR20? I ask because my OTA channels do not look as good as they used to and I'm wondering if they are getting squeezed. I'm running Native On, all formats supported into an Elite Plasma.

My HR20 has a sharper picture than my HR10 on both OTA and Sat. HD channels, and I have read many posts from other users who agree with that opinion. AFAIK the HR20 outputs a full 1920x1080i.

Is your HR20 on a different input then your previous receiver that did OTA? If so make sure you calibrate your input the HR20 is on. It could be you had the other input calibrated but not this one.

It's the same input, which was ISF calibrated. I've used both HDMI and component connections. Previously, an HR10 was connected to this input. It's OTA picture was identical to the OTA tuner built-in to the Plasma Panel. The HR20 OTA picture is not identical to the internal OTA tuner.

Has anyone done any tests to confirm that the box can output 1920x1080i? Anecdotal evidence is good, but I'm hoping someone has tested it with measurable results.

OTA via HR20 is exactly the same as OTA via other sources for me and most people. I really haven't seen posts (other then yours) saying otherwise. This is why I suggested checking your inputs.
