Does the RC16 only work with the D10 & D11?

The RC16 was the most basic of the Directv white remotes and was provided with the base model receivers. I think it had 2 less buttons than the RC23 or RC24, but otherwise used the same control pulses. The RC16 should work with any directv branded receiver but may lack a function or 2 due to the missing buttons. Now I believe all three remotes have been replaced with the RC32.

The rc16 only has 4 sat codes in it, 00001-00004. which are only for the D10, and subsequent model dtv receivers. All branded Directv, it doesn't have codes for previous name-brand receivers from dtv.

It will control the Directivos with VCR code 20618 on the either av1 or av2.

Okay, thanks. I just wanted to know because I saw a bulk offer for RC16s, and I wanted to know if they would work with the R15 and H20(minus the format button).

The answer to that question is, yes it will.

Will it work with a HR21.

Yes, the HR21 uses the 00001 and 00003 codes (for DTV and AV1 respectively).

The RC16 will work in DirecTV mode with all DirecTV branded receivers except the R10 and the HR10-250. However, it is missing one important button-the "FORMAT" button, which lets you switch aspect ratio and resolution on the H and HR series receivers. It also has the earliest, most restrictive TV/AV1/AV2 code sets of all the white remotes.
