LOL, I sure don't. What a waste of bandwidth. I can't believe there's even two markets that have the channel.

+1
From the site:

"How much will DOGTV cost?
DOGTV is a pay channel. The monthly cost is approx $4.99/month."

$5 a month?!?! Yeah, this would be a BIG money maker for Directv LOL
I didn't realize it was a premium channel. I was going to ask if the commercials were for humans or dogs. ;)
DogTV. Really?

Dogs need to be active. You take them outside to play. Now that we have saturated our kids by placing them in front of the TV instead of letting them play outside, our next target is the dogs? :D

Okay, to each their own.... but I doubt a $5 channel that dogs can watch is something a lot of DirecTV subscribers are looking for.

Go take the dog for a walk! :D
Their FAQ says its designed for when your dog is home alone.

Wondering when they launch CatTV. HamsterTV?
I got DogTV for awhile for my Newfoundland "Alfie".
Turns out that he didn't care all that much for the programming.
I would come home and the channels were changed to the 590's.
That wasn't the bad part...
The remotes (I went through 37 of them) were ruined... chewed to sh** or drenched in slobber...

Huh?
Does a subscription to this include insurance for when the dog destroys the TV?

What will be next? Cat TV? Bird TV? etc etc.

Only if it is HD
You'd at least need an HD TV. Dogs cant watch something at 60hz like we do, they have a higher flicker fusion rate. Birds are even higher, closer to 100hz.
I believe this is on Fios on their highest tear... It seems like most posters on the Fios forum wonder why they have it.
My dog is happy with Animal Planet, I flipped channels on Puppy Bowl during the Super Bowl for a minute and he went crazy. He looked behind the TV for where they were coming from or just stared at the screen mesmerized. I had to stop him from jumping up to the TV level of the entertainment center so I had to revoke his TV privileges and now it's back to the much more boring (in his opinion) human shows. What I am trying to say is that DogTV is probably a terrible idea and could end with your TV knocked down, broken or slobbered on. The other posters are right, take your dog for a walk.
They're expecting a huge increase in ratings when their new reality show, "The Real B*****s of NYC" premieres next month.

;)

Funny, I thought that show was already on
I actually think it's a decent idea. I know a lot that leave the tv on for their dog when they're gone for work. So it makes sense to me. And if you were to read the website, the purpose of the channel is for "home alone" dogs. Eh, I'd try it for my dog if it was in the regular programming. Would I pay $5 for it? No.

If someone has a dog that slobbers, I do t think this would increase it, they already are dealing with it.
I didn't see the $4.99 monthly cost. Would i pay $4.99 per month no,but with pet products being a multi billion dollar a year industry i feel more people than you think would love for Directv to carry channels for there pets.People feel like their pets are like kids. How many of us spoil our pets,I confess i am somewhat guilty but not to the extent of alot of pet owners.
