DD 5.1 is when you have 5 independent speakers plus a subwoofer. Your TV can only simulate that at best. So turn Dolby Digital to off unless your TV specifically says it can decode Dolby Digital 5.1, which sounds like it cannot.

With it off then the PCM streak will decode however your TV does that, most likely as Dolby Pro-Logic/Stereo. You may have to configure that in your TV.

Your TV should have a configuation menu similar to an A/V receiver. On my A/V receiver for example I have to configure it to tell it how to decode a PCM signal. I have mine set to Dolby Pro-logic with a surround sound field applied so it uses all speakers. I spent about a week tweaking it to get it to sound the best.

Your TV probably doesn't have that many options but may give you some. Play around with them until you get a sound you like. Basically if you want decent sound you really need an A/V receiver with separate speakers. TV provided sound is going to be the most basic only. However that is good enough for many people. Depends what's good enough for you.

Good luck.
