Yikes!

I can understand now why those who have already seen this before have been so excited.

I can't believe how well they pulled everything together in this....and that is only a setup for next week's finale.

All I can say is WOW!!!!!!! What Great writing!!! Best story line so far!! It is great to see the return of Rose, but next week will will also see the cast of Torchwood join in Dr. Who with Martha Jones. This is going to be the best season finale in Dr Who History. Wow what a wild ride we are going to have.

On a second note. Is this going to be the end of David Tenent being the Doctor? I saw in the previews what looked like him regenerating. If that is true I will be sorry to see him go. By far my Favorite Doctor.

This was a great episode, especially given how scary the world would be without the Doctor: Martha Jones? Dead. Sarah Jane, Luke, Clyde, Maria? Dead. The world in chaos. "Forced labor" camps. Not shown, but what about all the worlds that the Doctor didn't get to visit with Martha and Donna? Chaos there as well. It's too bad we didn't get a glimpse into what would have happened to Torchwood in the altered timeline...

The only thing I thought was confusing was how Rose, who crossed several universes, was able to have authority with UNIT, but I'll let that slide ...

I especially enjoyed the ending, with BAD WOLF everywhere, and can't wait for the two-part season finale.

Hmmm. Must be just me then. Seemed like a filler episode. Lot's of reruns and not much entertainment. Good to hear someone else liked it. Then again, it was a purely Donna episode. And since I don't like her character, that might have something to do with it.

Could have fast forwarded to the last couple of minutes and gotten all of it.

"Left Turn" was the Doctor-Light episode to counter the previous Donna-Light episode of "Midnight"
I thought this was an interesting way to do things different. The earlier seasons had an "everybody light" episode with some hit or miss success. "Blink" was a profound success, the others not so much.

So this season having one episode be companion-light and the other be Doctor-light was interesting since the Doctor-light episode at least had the other main character featured. I thought it was a good alternative.

I hope that at 90 minutes for part 2 of the finale, SciFi will not be cutting scenes like they did in this episode. :nono:
I missed this episode on SciFi, so I got the BBC version via bit torrent. When it finished, I noticed the run time was 49:30 and thought, "Gee, how does SciFi fit 17 minutes of commercials into ten minutes and 30 seconds?" ..... ;)

As an added bonus, the BBC version was completely free of logo bugs and lower third graphics! I could actually watch the show without being assaulted by General Electric. It was a joy to watch.

Okay, so what did we miss in the SciFi version of the show?

I thought this was a great episode and was glad to see the return of Rose. The Doctor's face was great when he heard the two words Rose told to Donna. It was like he was ecstatic and scared all at the same time--one for hearing those words and second for knowing who said those words.

To be fair, they don't snip as much as it would appear just by comparing those numbers. If you notice, they actually don't show the end credits really in their entirety and while doing that they shrink and are showing commercials at the same time... so that probably squeezes an extra minute and a half maybe.

Usually it is so long before the DVDs come out that I'm unable to remember how shortened the SciFi broadcasts were to know what I missed the first time around.
