Periodically, my picture will go black or freeze. The sound continues and then in a minute or two it will come back. It seems to be mostly on local channels and during prime time programs. The weather is clear and there are no storms in the area.
The DVR is an R-16 500.
I've done the normal resets and checked signal strength. All seems normal.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

The next step would be to try to see what channels it happens on, to see if it's always the same 3 or 4.

It seems to be random. but mostly on the local channels although those I watch the most .

I've checked both of my DVR's (R-16 300 & R-15 500) and I am getting the drop outs and freezing on both'
I looked at my signal strength at allmost all are above 90.
Now what
