Adelphia Cable is starting a new ad campaign on local channels. Adelphia claims that you don't pay extra for local channels. If this is the case, then why was Adelphia charging me $8.71 for local channels before I switched over to DTV when they started carrying Buffalo locals?

Erkie, (Jerky) Kilborne, Adelphia's CEO must be getting scared because of losing Adelphia's subscriber base.

I sounds like DTV is taking over a substantial number of Adelphia subscribers in the Buffalo, NY Area!!
Why else would they start these advertising lies on local channels?

According to Shredd and Ragan from 103 Erkie is Adelphia's saving grace Took a ride up to Lockport on Sunday for some peaches, I must have seen over 25 oval dishes on the way their (and another 25 on the way back ). TW's theory on locals is that 'We carry ALL of your locals, INCLUDING community access' Jim what package do you have?

ATT has been going nutty sending me "Well buy your dish" ads. Funny, but ive gone from being the only Oval dish in about 20 miles, to one of about 20-30 that are visible from the street.

Ive also noticed one extra positive thing about the oval dish, since most of them come with a 4x4 multiswitch, people have yet one less reason to not switch, they dont need to buy a switch from more than 2 irds.

I have total choice plus w/locals along with the NFL Sunday Ticket and the NHL Center Ice packages.

Who cares about community access?
The only thing I really miss is the local weather on the weather channel, but I can pull it up anytime I want to on my computer.

Just wait. If Adelphia is anything like AT&T Broadband, the advertising half-truths will get much worse and more mean-spirited. AT&T is absolutely brutal, even to the point of showing someone eating a salad out of a dish or using one as a wok saying that is the best use for a dish...

If you have a Wink-enabled receiver, local weather is easy to get. I can't remember the channel number, though, but you can select your city and state and a local forecast will magically appear.

Time warner pulled the same thing with me . They would give me $100 for the dish plus , 3 months of free HBO . I told them they are resuring a road . I could always kiss you every morning when I go to work . That got him to stop . Cable Service Is , low sound ..... when I went to directv my sound , went this high ............. I had to turn the soud down . cable ..... directv .................. Which would you rather have . I pick directv sound .
