After 10 years with Directv I decided to switch to Dish for a Hopper +3x Joey install that was scheduled for this morning (8-12). Multiple contact points by Dish to insure that I'm here in the morning, and I took a day off from work, of which I have a very limited number of days available.

I confirmed by phone at 8:15 that the install arrival was showing 8:35 for arrival....but no one shows up. At 11:00 a.m. no phone calls, I call Dish, and the online info now shows the install scheduled for 12:53 to 4:35 afternoon install. No one from Dish called to notify me of this change, I had to call them.

Not impressed with their service scheduling or ability to keep customers informed of changes.

I'll update as the day goes--

Install has completed for 1 Hopper, 3x Joey. Everything works, although the tech spent about 1 minute on the orientation just I could know how to connect at any tv to something showing, pretty fast.

Sales had told me on the install order they would notate that I wanted one extra room wired (a coax drop) so that I could have the 3rd Joey used in one of two rooms. They had said a Hopper could support a 1 Hopper and 4x Joey using two 1x2 splitters off the Solo Node. If the line was not being used it could be terminated with a 75 ohm load.

The tech declined to wire that room saying it was not on the work order, and that a Hopper could not support that configuration.

I can live with this outcome, but don't like to be told one thing by sales, and then have the tech decline to perform the work. As it turned out for this new installation the tech did not have to run any coax runs, there were ample cables from my prior Directv dual coax runs in the existing rooms. A very easy install for the tech who was a contractor.

I still have some interoperability questions to sort out, he did not enable any of the remotes to work with the A/V equipment, just basic sound through the TV monitors.
