....I don't want to record the local new but I cannot figure out how to remove it permnantly from my timer schedule/program. I can remove each night individually. I just want to remove this scheduled recording indefinately.

I think you want a Dish Network forum, this is the DirecTV one.

It's easy. One forum is named General Dish Network Discussion and another is General DirecTV Discussion. I've clicked on the Dish one many times and then discover I have no idea what they are talking about.
