E* HD Sat Locations

The D* 3 hd dish aims at 101/110/119. The 3 slots for E8 are 110/119/129. By your zip it looks like you are in Cincinnati, OH. What was the problem? Which sats were the problem. For HD you would be able to have 1 dish pointed to 61.5 maybe depending on if there are trees close to you in the SE. Also maybe moving the dish to a different location on the house.

To answer the intitial question, yes the satellites are in the same location. DirecTV uses 101° for the main channels and locals. The HD channels can be at 110° and 119°.

Dish network uses 110° and 119° for the main channels some HD and locals. You need to see both to get full regular service from Dish. They also use 61.5° and 129° (take your pick you only need to see one) for additional HD

So if trees were the problem for DirecTV HD, they will be a problem for Dish Network.

Find local installer which does site surveys. See what he thinks.

Actually, much of the DirecTV HD comes from 99 and 103. With luck, the interference is to the East, leaving open 110, 119 and 129. A simple site survey should be able to determine if it will work.
