I appreciate the thought being expressed here, but Earl doesn't need to be defended to the tivo community or anyone else for that matter. Things change, Businesses make decisions and then reverse them, its the way things are. I'll wait til there is an actual new HD DriecTV TIVO box....

I thank you very much for bringing this to our attention. Earl has a very thick skin and I'm sure would also appreciate your compliments and feelings.

Earl has a huge body of helpful work at many sites, including DBStalk.com and TivoCommunity. You obviously recognize this as I'm sure so many people will also. On this day, there may be a few who chose to cheer Earl's having been right at the time and yet things have changed.

But the vast majority of people I've worked with here (and somewhat at TCF) will always fondly remember Earl's tremendous contributions--always with the intent of helping, helping, and helping.

Anyone who respects Earl, please don't bash in return. A few minor nudgings and helpful corrections at most. Earl's work speaks for itself--as do the postings of others who are being less helpful right now.
