I predict that we'll have the following:
DirecTV Software Release 0xYM (that's right, this release is so great that they had to move to a base-34 numbering scheme to account for it... or maybe the YM stands for 'yo mama')
New Features:
-OTA is enabled for all markets simultaneously
-All locals are available to all markets (who cares about the FCC, they don't control space, WE control space)
-7 HD, 25 SD, and 144 OTA buffers all active at the same time
-All menus in 1080p
-New anti-hater technology can detect rants a mile away and can zap the offender with a blinding blue ray of death (yep, that's what the LEDs are for)
-Totally open-source, easily modified. All video available to transfer to PCs immediately (who cares about those pansies at the MPAA and RIAA)
-New MPEG-12 technology allows for 750 hours of HD on the current hardware
-super, nuclear-launch-facility-quality reliability
-ability to go back in time and record items you forgot to schedule
Also a small, St. Christopher-type statue of Earl will be sent to the user upon request.
...and I guarantee there will still be complainers.
<<obviously, do not bother telling me why this is impossible>>
