I am having the HR20 and dish installed Friday (replacing my current dish) - I noticed on my order that it says "Swap New DVR IRD".

Is the IRD an actual receiver? If so, that would be a problem because I am keeping my HDTivo. Also, the order on D*'s website does not mention the multiswitch, should it?

They always say "swap new DVR IRD". And, yes, IRD is the receiver. They'll let you keep your HD Tivo, though, especially if you plan to keep it activated.

The installers should provide a WB68 multiswitch, but you might want to doublecheck with them.

The IRD is the receiver, yes.

Most of the time even when the order says "swap" you keep your old receiver. I have two old receivers that were recently "swapped" but I kept them. The installer will not carry it off in any case.

Even though I got the WB68 multi-switch, my order did not mention it, either. The installer is supposed to know about it and have one.

I am not all that worried about it. I'll be keeping my eye on him, lol.

Heck, the retention person that set this all up suggested that I could put the HDTivo in one of my kids room.

You could probably eBay it for around $300 too.

I think "swap new DVR IRD" means that they do not have to run new RG6.
