This is my SWM setup as installed in 2009

3LNB Slimline dish -----> 50ft RG6 coax -----> PI-21 -----> 1x4 SWM splitter -----> HR24, HR24

I also have an H24 in the bedroom.

I want to remove both HR24's and replace them with a HR34.

What else do I need and what do I need to upgrade?

Nothing if you remove both HR24's then you're under the tuner limit of 8. However I would replace the H24 and keep a HR24. Then you would still be under the tuner limit.

With that said unless you're ordering one from Solid Signal DIRECTV will more than likely have to send a tech out anyways.
