There is a guy that has posted that he has a RAID 0 with 2 500GB drives. And it appeared that with the last software update the full 1 TB was being recognized.BigDawg said:I've read through the eSATA thread, but I did not see any reason why RAID 5 is not supported.
Also, has anyone tried a RAID 0 or 1 with more than 2 drives?
Thanks.
That guy would be me. I currently have ~48 hours of mixed MP2 & MP4 HD recorded, and my capacity reads as 75% available. I should have 60 hr or so by the weekend to verify capacity past 50 hr, but everything appears to be OK - programs not marked as "Keep" are not being flagged as subject to deletion. I'll be even happier when my internal is included & my HD capacity improves to ~ 275 hrs....66stang351 said:There is a guy that has posted that he has a RAID 0 with 2 500GB drives. I haven't asked... but I am not sure what configuration he is using.BigDawg said:Earl,
six 750s?
Id be interested to see his answer too.BigDawg said:bbroach,
Another question for you, when you were testing out the RAID box, did you happen to test it with the eSATA cable plugged into the HR20, but not the RAID box? I'm curious if the HR20 would use the internal drive or not with that.
With my current HT furniture, it would be a lot easier to disconnect the eSATA cable from the RAID box then from the HR20.
But like you said, it would be best to be able to use the internal and external drives at the same time.
Thanks.
I don't know why the HR20 would be able to distinguish a cable with no drive at the other end from an open port; such detection is possible, but unlikely to be implemented since there is no good reason for it.BigDawg said:bbroach,
