So, regional areas are supposed to be protected so that fans can watch their local teams play and not the "whip around" coverage. See http://espn.go.com/womens-college-b...6375/2012-women-ncaa-tournament-coverage-maps

Will DirecTV turn on multiple alternate feeds to ensure we get to watch the local team play? Or is everyone forced to get the whip around coverage?

Thanks,

Skylab

As I understand it, the games are only on ESPN2, so you will get either your local game if you are in that area, or the whiparound. You can watch the other games if you subscribe to ESPN Full Court.

I could be wrong though, so take that with a grain of salt.
They used to open them up to everyone when they were in the 210's range, then they blacked them out even for full court subs. Now you either have to be inside a regional area that has been named to receive the game or get full court to avoid whip around coverage only. Your other option is to receive espn3.

My game for instance is on 730-1 and it will be on for the folks in SC. That's the way it was done in the past.
I have Full Court but last Tues nights games were blacked out on the 700 series channels...strange because those channel worked from Sat-Mon
