EUReKA - "I Do Over" (8/19)

Sigh.... it figures.... if it's a science fiction show, they will have an episode involving temporal mechanics. Of course, now the requirement is throwing in a reference to Doctor Who. (Wait, didn't CSI:NY have a crime involving a supposed time-travel rig, and they stated "Paging Doctor Who" and the sound of the TARDIS). But, no mention of Doctor Beckett. Hmmm....

However, I will say that I will miss Dr. Nathan Stark. Talk about a guy you love to hate.

I was completely surprised at that. No idea they were going to kill him off, especially since it's mid-season.

I did like how they worked in the changes to the sheiff's routine, but how the outcome always had to be the same. Kinda makes you think if things are fate or if free will has any true effect.

I also liked the Doctor Who reference. One sci-fi show's compliment to the other...

That was was a bit of a shock....hadn't heard anything about him leaving prior to the episode.

Last week's teaser intimated that someone would not survive the episode, but didn't hint as to who.

Being that Temporal Mechanics are/were involved, it's always possible Nathan could pop up again...assuming the parties could come to terms on a contract

I had been puzzling since last week's teaser. And simply because we didn't have a "crispy critter" result like Leo Weinbrenner, I assume we'll see him again. This was a real surprise for me because of this interview: Ed Quinn Talks About Changes For 'Eureka' on S3. Talk about someone being able to keep a secret!

Probably just as Sheriff Carter's romance with Allison gets going good. :D

I'm definitely going to miss the interaction between Stark and Carter. That was some of the funniest stuff on TV.

I would bet Nathan shows back up in an episode were Carter is about to pop the question to Allison.

I agree. Stark has got to return.
I for one am getting really sick of all the Degree crud in the show.
I posted on another form about Stark... I think the writers had basically written themselves into a corner with Stark.

The "problem" here is... the mystery was gone. In Season 1, he was mysterious and you always wondered if he was secretly bad or had an agenda but was pretending to be good. Over the course of Season 2, they revealed ultimately that while he was stubborn and stern while in charge of Global Dynamics, he was really a good guy and did care about people, in particular his fiancee (ex-wife) and her son... and even had reached a point of semi-mutual respect with Sheriff Carter.

So they essentially were left with a smarter Carter... and while I'll miss Stark, I understand why he had to go. His character had grown in a good way for his character but in a bad way for viewers.

I'm just glad they didn't kill off the voice of S.A.R.A.!

Chances are slim according to this link I found in "that other" forum. :D

No way, I think that's hilarious!

They're just doing what any other show does, they just don't hide it.

Oh I agree. I think it's pretty funny the way they are going really over the top to display/hint at/use in a sentence/ ANYTHING to promote Degree.

It's one of the fun things in classic Bond flicks.....count just how many brand promotions you can find.

Assuming Eureka lasts two more seasons, I could still see it happening for some of the same reasons they "killed him off." And remember, there is the kid.
