I subscribed to it on E* today. So far, it's the SAME ten major news stories over and over and over again, all day long. That’s followed by a few entertainment or sports news, again the same pieces all day long. No on-screen reporters, newsdesks, or interviews. Just an announcer speaking over B-roll footage. I guess that's how they offer it in several languages: All they have to do is change the audio and some of the video on the graphics and they can use the same video on all channels.

The news "stories" are one- or two-minute blurbs, the main news of the day, nothing special. It doesn’t hold water to BBC or France24 (from what I’ve seen of them online). So far, I am not too impressed with the channel. Still waiting for a real, 24-hour International News Channel on Dish.

Yup.. That's Euronews for you :)

So.. You gonna keep it, lacruz, or cancel it?

Ya.. France 24 looks pretty good on-line there.. :D

And so is Al-Jazeera English :)

P.S. Oh ya! .. How much did they (E*) charge you for Euronews lacruz?

It came with new German-language package I got, maybe a $2 extra surcharge, so I will probably keep it. Funny thing is, it is the same feed (audio and all) on all three channels I get it on...I looked, but can't find it in any other language (I get it on 900/901/784). Maybe you have to change the secondary audio feed in the Dish Receiver menu.

Wonder how much they are charging a-la-carte for this Euronews?

Anyone found out this info yet?

I have not been able to find a way to subscribe to Euronews. I currently have the HD Gold package.

So how do I get it? and What channel is it on?

Thanks
Gary
EuroNews (English/French/German) EURNS ch 784, tp 2, satellite 118 (aka 118.75 - Gotto have that location to be technically ready to receive this channel here)

Euronews (English/Portuguese/Italian) EURNS 900 14 61.5
Euronews (English/Portuguese/Italian) EURNS 900 7 148
Euronews (Russian/English) EURNS 901 14 61.5
Euronews (Russian/English) EURNS 901 7 148

(Gotto have either 61.5 or 148 dish in your setup there to be technically ready to receive this channel on those sats..)

.. As to how to subscribe the channel .. and if it's available a-la-carte, etc - Maybe someone (who is interested in doing so) should just call DISH Customer Service.. and find out all the available options and a price for those available options :)

Sorry to bring this back from the dead.

I called Dish today to try and upgrade from my Superdish 121 / Dish 500 (129) combo to a Dish 1000+, and I also wanted to subscribe to Euronews (French).

They sent me to a tech who told me they will not upgrade my satellites unless I am ordering certain programming that requires me to receive one of the new satellites, so I told them I wanted Euronews (French) which is on the 118 satellite. I was then told that he couldn't add it to my programming (even a la carte) and to try and call back another time...

So how were you able to order this? Should I just try and call again to speak with another representative? Is there anyone specific I can talk to whom can help me with the satellite upgrade / add Euronews (French)?

Thanks in advance.

Obviously you got someone clueless over there at Dish. Call back again and speak to another CSR. I think some around here call that playing CSR Roulette. Enjoy the game.

.. and we STILL do NOT know why Euronews isn't being offered in 7th available language.. in Spanish?

Here is DISH's page on Euronews.. - they have one now :) :
http://www.dishnetwork.com/content/programming/channels/index.asp?NetwID=52157

What's funny to me, lol.. - Russian is one of the available languages, BUT they do NOT include Euronews in Russian Pack(s) ..

Instead they include Euronews, looks like, in Polish Pack(s) :D

Did they confuse, maybe, Polish language with Russian? (just kiddin') :p
