By George, I think you got it!!! I don't believe I selected Episodes, I just chose the episode in the ToDo list (as I have always done on my Tivo) and assumed it would just delete THAT episode. Didn't realize there was another step to removing items from the ToDo list
Well, I'm sorry to report that this DIDN'T work. Last night, my SL for South Park was set to record a repeat, as I setup the SL based on that repeat, but set it for only first run shows, so I followed bonscott87's instructions and same thing happened, it deleted the WHOLE SL. I had to recreate it. So, it looks to me that I'll have to record the one repeat and the SL will then work as promised. This is ok as long as I keep an eye on my ToDo list so that my HD does not fill up with that first repeat show on each SL.

So the bug I'm reporting is that when setting a SL, if the first showing is a repeat, the HR20 will record THAT repeat and then record only the first run shows.

The Tivo unit I had was smart enough to realize that that first show was a repeat and even if there were no first run shows availalbe for Season Pass, it would keep the SP and just notify you there were no upcoming shows.

I really don't know what's going on as I just reset most of my season passes twice in the past month, once for the new MPEG4 locals and then again when OTA got activated. I did exactly what you are trying to do (setup series link and cancel that first episode if a rerun) at least a dozen times and never had it delete the series link. I've also haven't seen any other post on this so there has to be something else at work here.

Maybe I have a buggy system. Who knows? If it happened once, I would have thought I did something wrong, but since it's happened on many occassions already then I know it's not me.

Now...when I choose that repeat to delete, it has the "double R" icon next to the name in the list, no other episode has that (so obviously, it's NOT recording ALL repeats, which is how someone in the thread described it should happen). When I delete that repeat with the "double R" then the SL disappears from the prioritizor.

I missed a step. After selecting episodes it shows the list of the episodes.
Highlight the one you want to get rid of and select it.
Then select "record once" and on that screen you can cancel it.

If you hit the record button instead it will cancel the series link as you describe.

Now you might be able to just select the episode from the To Do list and then select record once and cancel from there. It would be a bit quicker that way.

Good luck.
