Hello,
Can anyone tell if I can bring my external hard drive from my 722k to a friends house to watch some of my shows on his 722k receiver.

NO it cannot be done.

EHDs are unique to receivers active on your account. You can use the EHD on like receivers on your account but if you try to connect the EHD to any other receiver, you will be prompted to reformat the hard drive, thus erasing all content off the EHD. Thanks.
