How hard is it to connect an external hard drive to an hr-23 and 22? And of course have it work properly? My sister's kids are visiting for a month and I won't be able to keep free space on my dvrs Thanks

Easy as connect it to PC.

Just get right combo: WD AV type (EARS and on), eSATA/USB BlacX dock, eSATA-eSATA [I-I] cable;
turn off (disconnect power cord or do Menu/Setting/Restart), connect by eSATA cable powered BlacX to the DVR and voila, done !

Any WD model number advice? I dropped by amazon and there are so many choices...

I use 1TB WD Green drives on my HR20s with ANTEX MX-1s. I think the models are out of production.
